GENTLEMEN:

It was an unusual day at Dayton Valley Golf Course. First, those players who canceled out, and opted not to play, made a wise decision. As the day went on, it got hotter (96ºF) and the AQI was 178 when we finished. Not exactly ideal golfing condition.
In any case, we had 44 players participate in the “Heidemann Cup”, individual stroke play tournament. The competition was keen and as usual, one person rose to the top with the best net score.
Our new 2021 Heidemann Cup winner is JOHN LILYGREN!  John fired a gross score of 89 and a net score of 62 to conquer first place, The Heidemann Cup Trophy, The GREEN HAT, and $25.00.  CONGRATULATION, JOHN!
Bomber, Bill Brown, and smooth as silk player, Russ Dow, had the best gross score of 80.
I know that we do not have ideal weather grooming conditions for the golf course. Under these circumstances, the course was playable and many of our old timers had no problem.
Thank you Jim Kepler, Jason, Sean and your staff for hosting our group today. The “kitchen” did an outstanding job! The chicken, ribs, BBQ and backed beans were finger licking good!
Thank you everyone that played for hanging in there!

GENTLEMEN:

On Monday, August 16, you will play in the Heidemann Cup golf tournament. We will have a 8:30 AM shotgun start.
INDIVIDUAL STROKE PLAY. The low net score wins the Heidemann Cup Trophy and money award. I will also pay one player with the best gross score. We have 47 players, one opening with group # 6.
Please pay $55.00 at the Pro shop when you arrive. See Tom Sawyer and contribute $5.00 for our prize fund, before you head for the driving range.
In case of a tie for the Heidemann Cup, we will have a play-off hole on the 18th hole. Closest to the pin on all par threes. (Two places)
Please do not spend any time trying to fish balls out of the lakes. You wont be able to see your ball if you go in the water. Most bunkers are very hard and gravel pits.
If you are in a bunker, lift your ball, drop outside the bunker, no closer to the hole. No penalty.
Please watch your pace of play and try to play within 4 1/2 hours. A scrumptious lunch will be served after your round, about 1:15 PM.
Thank you, and have a fun day with your buddies!
