Genoa Lakes Results PDF 1 PDF 2

GENTLEMEN:

We had a wonderful turn-out of 54 players, 14 teams in our 4-man team, 2- better

balls event.

Wow, for the second week in a row, we have a hot shot team, namely the team of

Ron Thompson, is eating everyone alive. Great team work for winning first place

again!

Playing the Blue/White combo tees today, I made an interesting observation:

  1. The lower handicap players ate this course up alive.
  2. Except for a couple of players, to the high handicap players it made no difference.

I have come to the conclusion that it is the short game the higher handicap player has a problem with. My advise is: when on the driving range, practice your shots from 100 yards to the pin or closer. Remember, from 100 yards in or closer, this includes your putting, is 80% of your total score. Believe, it won’t be long, when you feel much better about your game.

I was informed that the course was in good condition, however some pin placements caused a lot of grief.

Thank you Tom Sawyer and Marshal McCurdy for collecting and handing out the prize fund money!

Thank you Genoa Lakes staff for hosting us today. It was most enjoyable!

Sorry that I could not join you today. I shall return!

Thank you,

Sig

GENTLEMEN:

Genoa Lakes golf course is waiting for you on Monday, Aug 3. WE WILL HAVE A 8:30 AM SHOTGUN START. We have 14 teams, 56 players. Our tournament format is a 4-man team, 2-better balls.

Your green fee and cart is $49.00.

Being that this golf course has several difficult holes, I am dedicating this tournament to the “higher handicap” players. It will also speed up play. For those reasons we will all play from the ” BLUE/WHITE COMBO TEES”.(5352 yds)

Closest to the pin on all 4 par threes. Range balls will be available for your warm up.

We will either have 2 players per cart or one player per cart. After your round, please drop off your score card to me in the snack bar area. You may also order food and drinks from the bar.

By all means, wear your mask and practice social distancing where appropriate. Thank you,

Sig
