An All-Volunteer Organization
SIR Branch 129 in Redding, like the other 120-plus branches in Northern California, is mostly self-led. We follow the bylaws of SIR, Inc., and are assisted by the state board of directors, officers, committees, regional directors and area governors, and (as shown in the Organization Chart) by our own Branch Executive Committee (BEC), which consists of our branch officers, directors and appointed chairmen of committees and activities.
At the Branch level we have six officers, two to six directors and many committee chairmen. Big Sir is the chief executive officer and he leads all of the affairs of the Branch and the BEC. Little SIR arranges for monthly luncheon speakers and is next in line to be Big SIR. The other officers are Secretary, Treasurer and their respective assistants. Current Branch 129 officers, director and chairmen are shown here.
Our branch leaders are selected because they engaged, enthusiastic, open-minded and dedicated to the SIR Mission. They are also consensus builders, problem solvers and decision makers who have the ability to influence others. In all cases they are also deeply involved with the fun events and activities that make Branch 129 so inviting. And because every member is also involved and helping out with these happenings, their assignments, while challenging at times, are always very enjoyable and rewarding.
This is why SIR Branch Leaders are always respected and honored. Their unpaid service and voluntary contributions are not only truly appreciated—they are a SIR hallmark that makes our organization unique.
