Book Exchange

Each month members of SIR Branch 129 exchange books with each other by bringing them to the monthly meetings. Our library curator brings the books to the Book Exchange Tables at the Elks Lodge each month. The books are on display on tables that are set up to accommodate grazing and mingling while the members and guests enjoy coffee, buy 50/50 tickets and sign-up for the various activities sponsored by our branch. Members are encouraged to bring a “man’s book”, one they have read and enjoyed to every meeting. Dozens, if not more, books are exchanged in this manner and those books that are not taken or deemed inappropriate for this audience are given to other organizations, senior centers or the local library.
