THE SIRS MARCH BICYCLE ACTIVITY
WILL BE ON THE COYOTE CREEK TRAIL
WHEN: MARCH 28th on the 4th Friday of the month
LOCATION: The Coyote Creek Trail
MEET AT : We will start the ride at Metcalf Park on Forsum Rd x St. Forsum Ct., San Jose, 95138. Off of Monterey Highway. The Coyote Creek Trail passes by Metcalf Park
TIME: Rendezvous at 9:30AM, leave at 9:45AM
LENGTH OF RIDE: About 20 miles round trip. It will be about 1-3/4 hours round trip not including breaks, pictures and lunch.
DESCRIPTION OF RIDE: The ride will be on a semi level paved trail. We will follow the Coyote Creek. We will pass by perk pond lakes, open grass meadowlands, forested areas, see wild life, deer, turkeys, an occasional bobcat, pigs and foul along the way. If the buzzards are circling, start moving. There are shaded picnic tables to stop at along the way for water breaks and pictures. We will pass by a model air plane fly zone, Metcalf Sub, ranches with horses and goats. We will pass over 2 bridges spanning Coyote Creek and 2 low water bridges along the way. We will see old historic buildings barns and sheds reminding you of the farming days of the past. Our goal is to ride to the Anderson Lake County Park Visitor Center at the base of Anderson Dam and ride back to Metcalf Park. It is 10 miles one direction.
We can have lunch at High 5 Pizza after the ride at Snell and Branham Ave.
Standard and electric bikes are welcome.
I look forward to riding with you and your friendships! It is a nice easy leisurely ride . No man left behind. Do a weather check before the ride and dress accordingly.
Bring water, sunglasses, sunscreen and a helmet. A first aid kit will be provided.
I will share my electric bike with someone’s standard bike along the way.
RULES TO RIDE BY: Let people know you are approaching them. They will appreciate it. Go slow when passing. The trail speed limit is 15 MPH.
Keep a safe distance to other riders and DON’T STOP SUDDENLY!
