After several years Covid delay, the annual summer Ladies Picnic/BBQ was held on July 20th this year. It normally is planned for the month of June, but this year it conflicted with a SIR State Golf outing in Reno. Thus, the move to the July lunch date. It was held in the Friendship Hall at the Saratoga Prospect Center, accompanied by a beautiful day of weather. Attendance was outstanding, with a total of 93 tickets sold! As always, the ladies offered an upscale feel/look to the event, unlike the motley crew that we usually see at the regular lunches. Everyone seemed to be in a party mood and the socializing was extensive. The event was catered by “Que-It-Up” and everyone voiced rave reviews about the food. There were plenty of leftovers, but by the time everyone departed, there wasn’t even a corn cobett left on the serving line!! The Raffle table offered 23 items to choose from, and there was much amusement watching the winners decide what to take! Almost everyone participated in Bingo, with winners screaming and the usual sighs/groans from the losers! In the end, it was an extremely successful and enjoyable event that netted over $700. Thank you to “Team Picnic” for the thorough planning and awesome execution. I think the tear down and cleanup took a record only 15 minutes!! Special thanks to: Jim LeBlanc, Stan Schneider, Sam Khan, Doug Krause, Don Soderman, Bob Shook, Bruce Henry, Galen Gipson, John Pletch, and Hersh Booth
