  1. Do you have dues?
    1. No, we do not have dues. We do pass a basket at our lunches and expect members to contribute a couple of bucks.
  2. What are the expectations of a member?
    1. Basically, to have fun, participate in activities, serve when asked, and bring in new members.
  3. Do you support any religious or political party?
    1. NO!
  4. What is the average age of the members?
    1. One of the advantages of the organization is that with lots of activities we keep ourselves pretty busy and active. Thus, we tend to live longer. Our average age is in the high 70’s and we recruit members of all ages.
  5. Do you have activities for my wife to participate in?
    1. Yes. We have 2 lunches each year specifically for out ladies. One is a BBQ in the summer and the other is a Christmas party in December. Wives are also welcome at our lunches if a topic appeals to them. Wives also participate in many of our activities, especially hiking and golf.
  6. Do you do any service projects?
    1. No, many of us belong to other service organizations, but the sole purpose of SIR is simply to have fun. No fund raising, no project work.
  7. What if the activity I like isn’t offered by the branch?
    1. We are always looking to add new activities. All we require is that there is enough interest and someone is willing to take on organizing it. See the Big Sir or the Activities Coordinator for how propose a new activity.
