THE SIRS MARCH 19th BICYCLE ACTIVITY

When: This month’s bicycle ride is on  Thursday March 19th.

(The 3rd Thursday of the month).

Where: On the paved Los Alamitos Creek Trail threw a forested rural urban area.

Distance & Elevation Gain: 16 miles on level and some small elevation gains following Los Alamitos Creek.

Description: Start ride at Martial Cottle Park. Ride through the park to Chynoweth Ave. in a wide bike lane to the paved trail at Almaden Park. Ride through the park and out the backside following the Los Alamitos Creek to McKean Rd., then ride back to Martial Cottle Park. Electric and standard geared bikes are welcome. We can have lunch at High 5 Pizza at Snell and Branham Ln. at the end of ride.

I recommend seeing an interesting wall at Martial Cottle Park that has a progressive time board of the history of the valley from the 1700’s to the present time.

Rendezvous:  At 9:50AM and start ride at 10:00AM.  The ride will end about 12:30PM. Meet at the parking spaces outside of Martial Cottle Park on Chynoweth Ave.  about 1000 ft. west of Snell Ave. in San Jose.

Recommended Items:  Helmet, sunglasses, gloves. backpack, patches and a small air pump, Water and dress to undress. A first aid kit will be provided.
