SIRS OCTOBER 24 TH BICYCLE ACTIVITY
When: The ride will be on October 24th. The 4th Friday of October
Where: The ride will start at the Shoreline Park & Lake parking lot.
3160 N. Shoreline Blvd., Mtn. View. At the American Bistro Restaurant.
Rondevous We can commute from the Cambrian Shopping center at 8:45 AM and drive to Shoreline about 9:00 AM. My truck can carry 5 bikes and 5 riders.
Time: We rondezvous at Shoreline Lake at 9:50 AM. The ride will start at
10:00AM to about 1:00PM
The ride is about 1-1/2 hr’s in each direction with rest stops and pictures along the way.
Distance It’s about 17 miles total distance.
Weather Do a weather check and dress accordingly
Ride Description: This months bicycle ride is on semi level paved & gravel hard packed Shoreline trails in Mtn.View to Palo Alto. It is a nice easy flat ride. It is not a race, no man left behind. Enjoy the view & good times.
We will start the ride at Shoreline Lake by the boat house parking lot. We will travel north on the San Francisco Bay Trail to Adobe Creek Trail along side of Charleston Slough to Marsh Front Trail, pass through Byxbee Park, pass through Habitat for Wildlife. We will pass by the Palo Alto Air Port and watch single engine planes taking off and landing. There will be many different breeds of foul. There are many information and pictured plaques explaining the habitat and history of the area. We will ride to Cooley Landing where we will take some pictures. Then, we will ride back to Shoreline Lake. There are great views of the Dumbarton Bridge and tidal bay lands. I can trade riding electric and standard geared bikes along the way. A first aid kit will be provided

Lunch: After the ride we can have lunch at the American Bistro Restaurant from about 1:30PM to about 2:30PM. While sitting on the patio looking at Shoreline Lake
