SIR is a nonprofit social organization for retired or semi-retired men, primarily based in California.

Our main goal is to help retirees maintain friendships, purpose, and mental/physical activity

Our branch activities include everything from golf and fishing to book clubs and bridge.  Many of these activities include partners and guests.  Check out the Activities page to see what we currently offer.

 

SIR groups (called “branches”) organize:

  • Monthly luncheon meetings with guest speakers

  • Social activities like poker, bridge, and book clubs

  • Outdoor activities—especially golf, which is very popular

  • Day trips and travel opportunities

  • Technology, investment, and hobby groups
