Yes, guests can come too!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>RSVP not later than October 27<sup>th<\/sup> to Doug Krause at diamondtub@sbcglobal.net.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a 4.5 out of 5 star hike rated Moderate. It is a 5.0 mile, 2 \u00bd to 3 hour hike with a total elevation gain of 902\u2019 that takes you to <strong>Coyote Peak.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Located in San Jose, just outside Santa Teresa Golf Course but in the beautiful hills. This route starts at Santa Teresa County Park and takes you on a steady incline to Coyote Peak. This area has significant elevation changes and <strong><u>stunning views<\/u><\/strong> of both the South Valley and the Bay Area. There\u2019s limited shade and some rocky sections, so wearing sun protection and proper footwear is recommended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Hiking Plan<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Date\/Time:&nbsp; Wednesday, October 29, 8:20am Carpooling: Meet at Cambrian Park Plaza parking lot facing Union Ave, next to the Carousel. Leave at 8:30am. OR Drive yourself to the second parking lot after entering the park from Bernal Road. There is a fee to enter but there are Free parking passes at your local San Jose library branches. You can check them out for 14 days so start looking 10\/16. There are restrooms at the Bernal Road county park entrance but not at the parking lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>9:15am Assemble at the parking lot and start hike. 12:15pm Finish hike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Approx 1pm &#8211; <u>Lunch at:<\/u> <\/strong>Lazy Dog Restaurant in the Almaden Fashion Shopping Center where the Costco is: 5305 Almaden Expwy San Jose 95118.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The hiking trails we will take are: Just a very short distance from the parking lot going east, take the Mine Trail to the right. Go left at Rocky Ridge Trail where it ends and go left on Coyote Peak Trail to Coyote Peak for stunning, beautiful views. Take the small loop trail to the left to the peak at 1,145 ft elevation. Then left back onto Boundary Trail. Go <strong>right <\/strong>on Coyote Peak Trail as Boundary Trail ends at this merge. Within 0.2 miles, take a sharp left onto Ridge Trail, pass Picnic Tables shortly thereafter, then finally a sharp right onto Hidden Springs Trail back to the parking lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Doug will also have a downloaded map for navigation.<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>COYOTE PEAK HIKE DRIVING INSTRUCTIONS TO PARKING LOT<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is no street address to navigate to.&nbsp; <strong>My recommendation<\/strong> <strong>is to use the Google Map Coordinates below.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is located in the Santa Teresa County Park, just past Santa Teresa Golf Course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Google Map Coordinates to the parking lot: 37.21242, -121.78965<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Driving Directions: Take Hwy 85, Exit Bernal Rd south. Stay on Bernal Dr and pass Santa Teresa Golf Course, pass Golf Course Lane, pass Polvadero Dr staying on Bernal Rd, it winds around alot and at next available left, go left, this left is called Bernal Ln, go left.
