BOOK CLUB

Book-n-Neers R Us

Ours is an exception to the typical book club. Throughout the world, most book clubs are run by women and pay great attention to amenities and the kind of reading selections that send guys running in the opposite direction. The Book-n-Neers go another way. We meet once a month in the unimposing event room of the Raley's at the intersection of Sunset and San Juan here in Sacramento. Our meeting schedule can vary according to what works best for our calendars.

Our book selections vary, but we generally rotate between fiction and nonfiction, history and mystery. Our dozen or so regular members are open to any book that seems interesting. Here are some recent selections:

Our agenda is simple:

1-Open Forum

2-Book Talk

3-Next Book

4-Next Time

We plan our meetings for three hours but generally take only somewhere between one and two hours. We always look forward to and enjoy our discussions. Even if you haven't read the book you can still weigh in on it!

Share your joy of reading.
