Book Group 1<\/strong><\/h1>\n

The SIRS Book Group 1 meets one Monday a month during most months of the year at 10:15 AM at “Orinda Books”, a bookstore at 276 Villiage Square, Orinda, CA. Discussion is based on a book recommended by one of the members and it’s a free wheeling discussion, not a class. There is no cost to members, and discussion is consistent with the SIR understanding that we do not discuss politics or religion.<\/p>\n

Book Group 2<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Book Club 2 meets the Third Thursday of each month at 11:00 AM. Summer meetings are held outdoors at Arbolado Park Walnut Creek at the picnic tables in front of the basketball courts. \u00a0Winter meetings are held at Boundary Oaks golf course on the upper level near the bar (which is closed). Direct questions to our Chairman, Scott Clark.<\/p>\n

Throughout the year, a member volunteers to suggest 2 to 3 books for one of our monthly meetings. \u00a0 A short recap of each book is typically submitted. Final decision is based on the popular vote of all members. Our goal is to make book decisions 2 to 3 months in advance to give members plenty of time to read selected books. The \u00a0member whose book is selected leads the book discussion. Finally, we are not here to tell people what to read. If you don’t want to read or finish a selected book you are still welcome to attend any meeting.<\/p>\n\t

Book Exchange<\/strong><\/p>\n

At each luncheon meeting, we have a book exchange. \u00a0Just bring a book that you think is of interest to others and take home a book from those left by others.<\/p>\n
