NELSON, Glenn R. - Passed away on February 1,
2005 at the age of 89. Cherished father of Glenn R. Nelson, Jr. and Barbara L.
Wellnitz; dear father-in-law of Nanci L. Nelson and Charles P. Wellnitz; devoted
grandfather of Mark (Heidi), Erik (Kanon), Catherine (Michael) and Paul; great
grandfather of Peyton, Rachael and Kate. Glenn was a 54-year resident of San
Mateo and loved to travel. He was a member of San Mateo Rotary, SIRS, Kansas
State University Alumni, Pearl Harbor Survivors, Society of Professional
Engineers and Structural Engineers of Northern California. Friends may visit on
Saturday, February 5, 2005 at 12 noon and are invited to attend the Funeral
Service at 1pm at O'Connell's Chapel, 1311 S. El Camino Real, San Mateo.
Interment service will follow at Skylawn Memorial Park. Memorial Donations to

345-8585 Glenn joined SIR's Branch No. 1 on September 14, 1983. He was the
Greeter Chairman from 1990-1991 and the Assistant Fishing Chariman in 1990 and
from 1994-1995. He was a member of the Computer Group from 1997 until his death.
WESLEY A. FEIGE Born on August 10, 1923 in
San Francisco and a San Mateo resident for over 75 years. Wesley passed away
February 2, 2005. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Vera M. Feige, and
children, Carol Feige; son and daughter-in-law, Geoff and Joann Feige;
daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Christopher Allen; and James Feige. He
is also survived by three grandchildren, Scott and Julie Allen, and Nicholas
Feige; and three siblings, Al Feige, Sue Oberschmidt, and Althea Hoopes, and
numerous nieces and nephews. Moving to the San Mateo area as a young boy,
Wes attended South Hillsborough School and graduated from one of the first
classes of Burlingame High School in 1939. He attended College of San Mateo
and joined the U.S. Navy during WWII where he designed submarines and was
among the first Americans sent to Japan to assess structural damage. He
returned to the family construction business of A.H. Feige & Sons located in
San Mateo during the late 1940s. He finished his career in the late 1970s
with Ditz-Crane of Santa Clara, upon completion of their Sky Farm project in
Hillsborough. His hard work ethic and dedication to quality and honesty
earned him respect during his career in home building. During his vacations
in the early 1960s he helped the San Mateo Girl Scout Council work on
improvements at their camp on the shores of Lake Kirkwood California. He
enjoyed camping and traveling with his family, babysitting his
grandchildren, in addition to his hobbies of fine woodworking, bridge, and
stamp collecting. He was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church and a
member of the SIR's Garden Club. He is dearly loved and missed by all of his
family and friends. A memorial service will be held at Hope Lutheran Church
on Monday, February 7th at 11:30 a.m.

Wes joined SIR's Branch No. 1 on July 11, 1984. He was
Assistant Attendance Chairman from 1993 to 2003. He belonged to the Gardening
Group, and was Assistant Chairman from 1995 to 1996.

BAIREUTHER, Harold - Our beloved father passed away peacefully in
his sleep on March 4, 2005,
at the age of 88. He is now happily reunited with our mother, Mary
Gene, his cherished wife of 59 years. His children will dearly miss
him: Suzanne Garadis, Jim Baireuther, John Baireuther and Francine
Kilcoyne; as well as his daughters-in-law, Diane and Mary; son-in-law,
Ron Kilcoyne and younger sister, Gloria Cavanaugh. Harold was
fun-loving "Papou" to grandchildren: Matt, Peter and Tom Garadis; Rod,
Michael and Kathleen Baireuther; and Andrea, Steven and Scott Kilcoyne.
In addition he was cherished by many nieces and nephews. "Mr. B"
attended Balboa High School. At
graduation, he received a scholarship to Pace Institute of
Accountancy. he joined the Army to serve his country during World War
II, after returning from the war, he enrolled at the University of San
Francisco where he earned a degree in accounting and became a
certified public accountant. New Electric Market played an important
part of Harold's youth as he worked alongside his brothers Norman,
Albert and "Corned Beef" Charlie who predeceased him. While living in
San Francisco, he enjoyed a successful mortgage banking career,
donating his talents to St. Cecilia's Church. After moving to Santa
Rosa, he was active in Sons in Retirement (SIRS) and preparing taxes
for AARP members. Because of his great sense of humor, outgoing
personality love for dancing and affinity for a lively conversation,
Dad will be remembered by friends from Sterling Court in San Mateo,
Oakmont in Santa Rosa and lifelong San Francisco buddies. Friends are
invited to attend the Vigil Service at 7pm on Wednesday at Crosby N. Gray, 2 Park Road (Corner of Peninsula &
El Camino), Burlingame. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday
10am at St. Catherine of Sierra Church, 1310 Bayswater Ave.,
Burlingame. Graveside service at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma.

ROLF LAURITZ HERMANSEN July 24, 1916
May 30, 2005 Surrounded by his entire family in his last days, he died
after a brief illness. Rolf was the beloved husband of 58 years of Anne
Hermansen of San Mateo, devoted father of Donald Hermansen and his wife,
Holly, of Redwood City, Karen Cowles and her husband, Chuck, of Ocean
Hills, and Linda Mathre and her husband, John, of Fremont, and adored
grandfather of Julie Hermansen, Ryan Waufle and his wife, Jenny, Andy
Hermansen, Kristen Mathre, Annelise Mathre, Emily Cowles, Erik Mathre,
David Hermansen and Wendy Hermansen. He is also survived by his cousins,
Irene Carlson of Rohnert Park and Astrid Johanssen and Mette Christensen
of Mandal, Norway, and his niece, Anna Marie Hermansen of San Francisco.
A resident of San Mateo for 50 years, he was born to Norwegian immigrant
parents Fred and Johanne Hermansen in Eureka. Rolf grew up with his twin
brother, Alf, who died in 2003, in San Francisco. He was active in Boy
Scouting and was awarded his Eagle Badge by Lord Baden-Powell, the
founder of Scouting. Rolf served in the U. S. Army in Europe during
World War II. He was a retired accountant. Rolf was an active charter
member of Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church in San Mateo, an active
charter member of Vigeland Lodge Number 155 Sons of Norway, a member of
SIR's, and a member of Peninsula Stamp Club. His love of stamp
collecting and Norway led him to be area chairman of Tubfrim, a
Norwegian charity devoted to handicapped children. Rolf enjoyed
gardening and walking, but, most of all, he enjoyed any activity
involving his family. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service
on Monday, June 6, at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, 600 West 42nd
Avenue, San Mateo. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate
donations to California Lutheran University, 60 West Olsen Road, #1600,
Thousand Oaks, CA 91360, or to Hope Lutheran Church, or to the charity
of the donor's choice. Private Burial was held at Skylawn Memorial Park.

HERBERT S. TANNER Passed away at
Peninsula Hospital on June 4, 2005, at the age of 93 years. Beloved son
of the late Silas and Cora Tanner. Grandson of the late Brigadier
General Herbert S. Tanner, commander of the Rhode Island National Guard.
Survived by cousin Sanford Tanner of Warwick, R.I., and numerous nieces
and nephews. Longtime friend of Barbara A. Williams of San Mateo, Calif.
Graduate of Burlingame High School and San Mateo College. Born in
Oakland, Calif., and lived most of his life in Burlingame, Calif.
Veteran of the U.S. Army service during World War II, having served as a
lieutenant. Member of the Peninsula Golf and Country Club, former member
of the Olympic Club of S.F. Longtime member of SIR's., Branch #1;
57-year member of the Burlingame Masonic Lodge; member of the Grand Jury
Association. Retired employee of the McGraw Hill Publication Co. A
memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2005, at
the Burlingame Masonic Lodge #400, 145 Park Rd., Burlingame, Calif. In
lieu of flowers, donations to a favorite charity preferred. Arrangements

HERMAN GIEHM Of San Mateo, passed away on
June 4, 2005 at his home with his family. He is preceded in death by his
wife, Rose Leigh Giehm. Survived by two children, Mary Leigh Dowdy and John
P. Giehm; daughter-in-law, Linda and five grandchildren and four great
grandchildren. Herman served in the Air Force during WWII, retired as an
assistant director for the Department of Agriculture and was an active
member of SIR's. A private burial was held at Skylawn Memorial Park, San

Donald DAVIE August 1, 1924 - June 24,
2005 Don Davie passed away peacefully at his home in Foster City on June
24, at the age of 80. Born August 1, 1924, in Detroit, Michigan, he
graduated from the University of Michigan as a Navel Engineering
Officer. fter his WWII Aservice he married Jean Gardner in 1947. In 1966
Don, Jean and their 3 children moved to Foster City, California, to
accept a position at the Sweetland Company as an electrical engineer and
technical sales manager for 25 years. Don and Jean spent their
retirement years enjoying their family, friends and travels to many
parts of the world. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years,
Jean, sons Donald Lee and Peter, daughter Cynthia, and four adored
granddaughters, Molly, Talia, Julia and Jennifer. A Memorial Service
will be held on July 29th, 6 p.m., in the Wind Room at the Foster City
Library/Community Center located at 1000 E. Hillsdale Blvd at the corner
of Shell and Hillsdale Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory

LARSON,
Everett - May 19, 1927 - July 25, 2005 Everett Larson, of San
Bruno, died peacefully at his home of 48 years from cancer. He
was 78. The son of Albin and Hazel Larson, he was born May 19,
1927 in Providence, RI. Upon graduation from Central High
School, he enlisted in the Navy, and served until War's end in
1946. Mr. Larson married Irene Axionoff in Barrington, RI, in
Sept. 1952, and began work for Grinnell Fire Sprinkler Co. in
Providence, transferring to San Francisco, CA, in 1955. He
joined Allan Automatic Sprinkler in 1960, and worked
faithfully until retiring as chief engineer and certified
professional engineer in Jan 1996. Mr. Larson was active in
the Methodist and Presbyterian Church, where he sang in the
choir for over 50 years. He also was a 45-year member of the
Masonic Lodge, serving as master of lodge in 1971 and awarded
the Hiram Award for lifetime achievement in Nov. 1997. Mr.
Larson's passion was flying. He received his private pilots
license in 1969, and flew regularly until shortly before his
death. He is survived by his wife, Irene Larson; his sons,
Paul Larson of San Carlos, and Phillip Larson of Boulder, CO;
grandchildren: Jennifer, Nicholas, and Ryan; and his sister
Ruth L. Fuller of Florida. A Memorial Service is planned for
August 27th at 11am at the First Presbyterian Church in
Burlingame. The Rev Paul Watermulder will officiate. A special
thank you to the San Mateo County Hospice Care is extended
from the entire Larson family.

George Morris was born on November 8, 1931, and passed away on August 31,
2005. Memorial Services will be held by the Retired United Pilots Association at
the San Carlos Airport, Hanger T-1, on Sunday, September
25, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. George joined SIR's on January 12, 2005 and he was a
member of the Economics Research Group.

away October 30, 2005 at the age of 86. Loving husband of
Frances Schweiger of 62 years. Loving father of Judi (Bud)
Dormoy and Richard Schweiger. Devoted grandfather of
Christopher (Laurie Ann) West, Megan West; and
great-grandfather of Zachary and Ryan West. A native of San
Francisco. Private services were held. Lee was a member of
Sons in Retirement, Branch No. 1 since 1981.

Harris
Stanley W. Harris Died on Dec. 19th at the age of 78. He was a
longtime resident of Belmont and was born and raised in
Sacramento. Mr. Harris served in World War II after enlisting
in the Navy. He returned to Sacramento after the war and
attended American River College and Sacramento State College,
where he received his degree in chemistry. He went to work as
a chemist at Central Valley Scientific and later became a
salesman for the company. CVS was acquired by Van Waters and
Rogers, and Mr. Harris continued with them for another 30
years, until he retired in 1989, as scientific glassware
manager. Once retired, Mr. Harris was able to devote more of
his time to his favorite avocation, horticulture. He joined
SIRS and became an enthusiastic and valued member. During this
time, he developed an interest in computers and turned this
new skill into a tool for discovering his family history
through genealogical research. He is survived by his wife of
50 years, Gwen Harris, of Belmont; his daughter and
son-in-law, Melissa and Doug Kennedy; granddaughter, Sydna
Kennedy, of Lake City, CA; and nieces, nephews, and cousins of
California and Canada. A Memorial celebrating his life will be
held on January 17th, from 2 to 4 pm at Crippen & Flynn,
Carlmont Chapel, 1111 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont, CA
94002. Donations in his memory may be made to: The
