Edmund K. Swan, Badge 309 joined Branch One in 1987 and was a charter member of the Genealogy Group. He was an active genealogist tracing both his and his wife’s roots not only in this country but also in Europe. He had a long military career and wrote a couple hundred page booklet for all his family members. He was able to detail the information from letters his mother had saved and pictures he had collected both personally and over the internet. He furnished copies of his work on a CD and gave them to the members of the Genealogy Group. Ed enjoyed model trains and his family gave him a computer program so he could vicariously be a locomotive engineer. One of the funniest sessions of our group was the day he told us how he was propelling his train down the tracks and it crashed.
