Who Are We?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are the Monterey Branch of SIR<\/strong> and our mission is to enhance the lives of our members through social activities and events. And to have fun in the process. Our monthly luncheons have informative speakers and our various activities are intended to provide recreation, social interaction and enjoyment for all.\u00a0 Members live in Monterey, Carmel, Carmel Vallley, Pebble Beach, Pacific Grove, Seaside, Marina and Salinas.\u00a0 Anyone in Monterey County is welcome.<\/p>\n

When and where do we meet?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We get together at the Monterey Elks Lodge on the second Thursday of every month. Check-in begins at 11:15 am. We conclude about 1:45pm after lunch, our guest speaker and our business meeting. The lodge is located at 150 Mar Vista Drive, Monterey (just off Highway 1 via the Soledad or Munras Ave exit).\u00a0 If you wish to pay ahead of time for our monthly luncheon, you can click this link here<\/a>.

What Activities Do We Offer?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We currently have opportunities to bowl, to play bocce ball, and to golf and to participate in a few other activities.\u00a0 These include an active book club, wine tasting outings with our spouses or partners, local tours of sites of interest, and our newest activity, indoor games.\u00a0 We are always looking to add to our list of activities and are open to suggestions from members.\u00a0 Some general information about our activities can be found here<\/a>.\u00a0 For more information on any of our activities, contact SIRMontereyinfo@gmail.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In addition, members also volunteer at local non-profit organizations in the area and at special events. If you have the time and interest we can help connect you to the organization directly, or in many cases through a branch member who is currently a volunteer. We like to help others in the community.<\/p>\n

But there Are Some Things We Don\u2019t Do!<\/strong><\/p>\n

We don\u2019t raise money. We don\u2019t have a political agenda. We don\u2019t have a religious orientation. We don\u2019t make our members sell cookies or candy bars to help the branch. We have no problem with organizations that do these things, it\u2019s just that we don\u2019t.<\/p>\n
