SIR Area 16 Computers & Technology is a Sons in Retirement (SIR) technology working group that meets in Walnut Creek, CA.
Our meetings are fun and informative where we discuss applications for Computers and Technology. We are a volunteer organization with no connection to any commercial products or services. At each meeting we have a presentation on a topic regarding computer or consumer technology usage. We cover everything from antivirus programs, ways to back up your data, digital photography, genealogy research, smart phones and many other topics. It’s a great way to meet new friends and learn something to enrich your life.
All SIR members and their guests are welcome to attend our meetings. If you are interested in joining SIR, see "SIR Web Sites" for information about SIR and branches in our area.
Next Meeting: Thursday, January 18, 2018 starting at 9:30 AM at the Elks Lodge in Walnut Creek. The meeting presentation topic will be "Quicken and Other Financial Management Alternatives". Phil Goff and Neil Schmidt will be discussing Quicken's new software subscription model, i.e., annual subscription and various other financial management application alternatives.
The Area 16 Computer and Technology (CAT) Group meetings are held at the Walnut Creek Elks Lodge (1435 Creekside Dr.) on the 3rd Thursday of every month (no meetings on June & December) starting at 9:30 am, but you can come a little early for coffee, goodies, and chat. SIR from all branches and their guests are welcome and invited to attend. At our meetings we ask for a $5 donation to cover the cost of the hall rental, coffee, and cookies -- but some months are free, so come and see if our next meeting is another free one! All SIR members and their guests (spouses included!) are welcome to attend. See you there.
